Razib's two brothers compensation for one crore rupees
The High Court has directed the two brothers to pay compensation of one crore rupees to lose their hands in two bus races.
On Tuesday, the court asked the BRTC and Savjan transport to compensate (half of the) compensation. The High Court bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice AKM Jahirul Haque passed the order.
It is to be mentioned that on April 3, Rajib's body was cut in two bus races in the city's Karwanbazar area. He was admitted to hospital in critical condition. Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Ruhul Kuddus Kajol appealed on April 4 after the news of the incident.
The High Court directed RUJI to pay a one crore taka for the treatment of Rajib's medical expenses and the transport of two bus owners, BRTC, and relatives.
Why should not he be given a million rupees as compensation to Rule, why not give instructions for strict enforcement of existing laws to ensure the safety of ordinary passengers, and if necessary, why it will not be ordered to amend the law or to make new rules to prevent a repeat of such incident in future. The High Court asked.

রাজিবের দুই ভাইকে এক কোটি টাকা ক্ষতিপূরণ দেওয়ার নির্দেশ
দুই বাসের রেষারেষিতে হাত হারানো রাজিবের দুই ভাইকে এক কোটি টাকা ক্ষতিপূরণ দেওয়ার নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন হাইকোর্ট।
মঙ্গলবার বিআরটিসি এবং স্বজন পরিবহনকে এ ক্ষতিপূরণ (অর্ধেক করে) দিতে নির্দেশ দেন আদালত। বিচারপতি সালমা মাসুদ চৌধুরী ও বিচারপতি একেএম জহিরুল হকের হাইকোর্ট বেঞ্চ এ আদেশ দেন।
উল্লেখ্য, গত ৩ এপ্রিল রাজধানীর কারওয়ানবাজার এলাকায় দুই বাসের রেষারেষিতে হাত কাটা পড়ে রাজিবের। আশঙ্কাজনক অবস্থায় তাকে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়। এ ঘটনা নিয়ে সংবাদ প্রকাশের পর ৪ এপ্রিল রিট আবেদন করেন সুপ্রিম কোর্টের আইনজীবী ব্যারিস্টার রুহুল কুদ্দুস কাজল।
হাইকোর্ট এক কোটি টাকা ক্ষতিপূরণের রুল জারিসহ রাজিবের চিকিৎসার খরচ দুই বাস মালিক বিআরটিসি এবং স্বজন পরিবহনকে বহনের নির্দেশ দেন।
রুলে তাকে ক্ষতিপূরণ হিসেবে এক কোটি টাকা দিতে কেন নির্দেশ দেওয়া হবে না, সাধারণ যাত্রীদের নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে বিদ্যমান আইন কঠোরভাবে কার্যকর করতে কেন নির্দেশনা দেওয়া হবে না এবং প্রয়োজনে ভবিষ্যতে এ ধরনের ঘটনার পুনরাবৃত্তি রোধে আইন সংশোধন বা নতুন করে বিধিমালা প্রণয়নের কেন নির্দেশ দেওয়া হবে না তা জানতে চেয়েছেন হাইকোর্ট।
এ রুল বিচারাধীন থাকা অবস্থায় গত ১৬ এপ্রিল দিনগত রাত ১২টা ৪০ মিনিটে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ (ঢামেক) হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসাধীন অবস্থায় মারা যান রাজীব হোসেন।
এরপর ৬ মে বিষয়টি আদালতকে অবহিত করেন আইনজীবী ব্যারিস্টার রুহুল কুদ্দুস কাজল।
