On this occasion, Pirganj Upazila Awami League, MA Wazed Foundation, alliance partners of Awami League and Awami League affiliated organizations have taken various programs.
The late nephew of Upazila Awami League and Upazila Awami League general secretary and municipal mayor Tajimul Islam Shamim said that the day's program will start with the honor of the late scientists at Jaisadan in Fatehpur on behalf of different organizations.
Food will be distributed to the poor after the discussion meeting and Dow Mahfil at Jaishadan premises of Fatepur in the morning.

Apart from this, the book titled 'Some facts surrounding Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib and' Bangladesh 'published in his book 464 pages was published in January 1993 and 320 pages of' Bangladesh's politics and government's move 'published in February 1995 by Bangladesh University Press Limited. These two books, which are related to many political events, are particularly well-known to the good readers.

দেশবরেণ্য পরমাণু বিজ্ঞানী ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার স্বামী ড. এম এ ওয়াজেদ মিয়ার ৯ম মৃত্যুবার্ষিকী আজ।
এ উপলক্ষে পীরগঞ্জ উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগ, এম এ ওয়াজেদ ফাউন্ডেশন, মহাজোটের শরীক দলসমুহ এবং আওয়ামী লীগের সহযোগী সংগঠনগুলো নানা কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করেছে।
প্রয়াত বিজ্ঞানীর ভাতিজা ও উপজেলা আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক এবং পৌর মেয়র তাজিমুল ইসলাম শামীম জানান, সকালে বিভিন্ন সংগঠনের পক্ষ থেকে লালদীঘির ফতেহপুরে জয়সদনে প্রয়াত বিজ্ঞানীর কবরে ফুল দিয়ে শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলিসহ দিবসের কর্মসূচি শুরু করা হবে।
সকালে ফতেপুরের জয়সদন প্রাঙ্গনে আলোচনা সভা ও দোয়া মাহফিলের পর গরীবদের মাঝে খাবার বিতরণ করা হবে।
বিকেলে উপজেলা সদরে দলীয় কার্যালয়ে আওয়ামী লীগ ও তার সহযোগী সংগঠন এবং মহাজোটের উদ্যোগে বিজ্ঞানীর স্মৃতিচারণে আলোচনা সভার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।
বর্ণাঢ্য কর্মময় জীবনের অধিকারী ওই বিজ্ঞানী ১৯৪২ সালের ১৬ ফেব্রুয়ারি লালদিঘীর ফতেহপুরে একটি সম্ভ্রান্ত মুসলিম পরিবারে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধুর জামাতা ও প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার স্বামী ড. এম এ ওয়াজেদ মিয়া বাংলাদেশ পরমাণু শক্তি কমিশনের চেয়ারম্যান ছিলেন।
ড. ওয়াজেদ মিয়া ১৯৭৫ সালের ১৫ আগস্ট জাতির পিতা বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমানের নৃশংস হত্যাকান্ডের পর দীর্ঘ ৭ বছর নির্বাসিত জীবন কাটান।
তিনি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্নাতক স্তরের পদার্থ বিজ্ঞান, ফলিত পদার্থ বিজ্ঞান ও প্রকৌশলের ছাত্রদের জন্য দু’টি গ্রন্থ রচনা করেছেন।
এছাড়া তার লেখা ৪৬৪ পৃষ্ঠার ‘বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবকে ঘিরে কিছু ঘটনা ও বাংলাদেশ’ শিরোনামের গ্রন্থটি ১৯৯৩ সালের জানুয়ারিতে এবং ৩২০ পৃষ্ঠার ‘বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতি ও সরকারের চালচিত্র’ শিরোনামের গ্রন্থটি ১৯৯৫ সালের ফেব্রুয়ারিতে বাংলাদেশ ইউনিভার্সিটি প্রেস লিমিটেড কর্তৃক প্রকাশিত হয়। বহুল রাজনৈতিক ঘটনা সংবলিত এই দুটি গ্রন্থ সুধী পাঠকদের কাছে বিশেষভাবে সমাদৃত হয়।
