The pre-declared Dhaka-Chittagong highway bus strike was suspended!
Traffic owners suspended the bus strike on Monday on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. After a meeting with the administration, they announced the suspension of the strike.
On Sunday night, the meeting was held with the police commissioner of Chittagong, transport owners and workers. In the meeting, the authorities assured to complete the construction of Feni Overpass within the next 25 days. Then the strike was postponed.
Earlier, on Sunday no road construction and construction minister Obaidul Quader announced completion of construction work of Feni overpass in the next 25 days.
Obaidul Kader said that traffic congestion due to Feni's railway overpasses is causing people suffering. There is no alternative option. Everyone needs a little patience.

পূর্ব ঘোষিত ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম মহাসড়কের বাস ধর্মঘট স্থগিত!
ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম মহাসড়কে পূর্ব ঘোষিত সোমবারের বাস ধর্মঘট স্থগিত করেছেন পরিবহন মালিকরা। প্রশাসনের সঙ্গে এক বৈঠক শেষে ধর্মঘট স্থগিতের ঘোষণা দেন তারা।
রবিবার দিবাগত রাতে চট্টগ্রামের পুলিশ কমিশনারের সঙ্গে ওই বৈঠক হয় পরিবহন মালিক-শ্রমিকদের। বৈঠকে আগামী ২৫ দিনের মধ্যে ফেনী ওভারপাস নির্মাণ কাজ শেষ করার আশ্বাস দেন কর্তৃপক্ষ। এরপর ধর্মঘট স্থগিত করা হয়।
এর আগে দুপুরে সচিবালয়ে সড়ক পরিবহন ও সেতুমন্ত্রী ওবায়দুল কাদের আগামী ২৫ দিনের ফেনী ওভারপাস নির্মাণ কাজ শেষ করার ঘোষণা দেন।
ওবায়দুল কাদের জানান, ফেনীর রেলওয়ে ওভারপাসের কারণে যানজট হচ্ছে, এতে মানুষের কষ্ট হচ্ছে। বিকল্প কোনো পথ নেই। সবাইকে একটু ধৈর্য্য ধরতে হবে।
আমি এজন্য দুঃখিত। একটা লেন ১৫ মে খোলা হবে। এতে একটু স্বস্তি মিলবে। পুরো সমস্যা সমাধান হতে আরও ২০-২৫ দিন লাগবে।
ফেনী ওভারপাস নির্মাণ কাজের জন্য ঢাকা-চট্টগ্রাম মহাসড়কে দীর্ঘ যানজটে ভোগান্তি পোহাতে হচ্ছে চলাচলকারীদের। গত কয়েক দিন এ যানজট মহিপাল ছাড়িয়ে কুমিল্লা ও চট্টগ্রামে গিয়ে ঠেকেছে।
ফলে প্রতিদিন রাজধানী ঢাকা ও চট্টগ্রামমুখী শত শত যাত্রীবাহী বাস, মালবাহী কাভার্ডভ্যান, লরি ও ট্রাক ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা যানজটে আটকা পড়ে থাকছে।
এ যানজট নিরসনের দাবিতে সোমবার সকাল থেকে সন্ধ্যা পর্যন্ত বাস না চালানোর ঘোষণা দিয়েছিলেন পরিবহন মালিকশ্রমিকরা।
